An interview with Founder Raychel Harrison.
Q: What was the reason why you decided to start the line? Was there something you saw missing in the market?
A: Working for an international brand as a national educator, and behind the chair as a professional hairdresser for over 17 years, I have used hair care products to create solutions for my client’s everyday hair problems. Most problems clients have stem from having dry, brittle, or damaged hair. I started with one product, the Anti-Frizz Healing Argan oil, as I wanted to give clients a light, weightless everyday moisturizer. Light enough to be used on hair everyday...the results driven Argan Oil is changing the fiber of the hair from the inside out.
Q: What differentiates this line against similar products on the market? Or, if there isn't anything similar, what gap will this fill?
A: We believe that consumers deserve high-performance products that deliver on their promises. That’s why we develop proprietary technologies subjected to intensive clinical and in-salon testing before I felt happy to bring to market. The result is a state-of-the-art hair care collection that is a remarkable synthesis of nature & exclusive healing technologies. This delivery system improves the absorption of essential ingredients for superior keratin production.
Q. What is the essence of the line? I know you said the initial offering is a tight range of products, so what would you say is the one (or few) key fundamentals of the line?
A: The Nuuvo Nourishing Shampoo, Nuuvo Healing Conditioner and Anti-Frizz Argan Oil are the essence of the line. Together they are a system of lightweight moisturizer, enriched with a balance of essential oils and keratin. Each uniquely produced to provide maximum delivery of key ingredients. Using them together improves the integrity of hair, leaving hair smooth, nourished, and radiant.
Q: What inspired the name and the packaging? Any "hair inspirations", past or present?
A: The word Nuuvo came to me in a dream. I wanted a name not associated with anything. Nuuvo - to me means fresh, resilient and innovative. The label and color of light pink I was very drawn to, I researched the ancient art of Feng Shui and believe that colors have an impact on people feeling different emotions. Light pink is soothing to the senses, comforting and romantic. I want women to feel sexy when they pick up our bottles.
Q: Who would benefit from using your products?
A: Although we are targeting professional hairstylist and Colorists for our line, I absolutely love empowering women, so Nuuvo Haircare is designed for women of all ages to enjoy the benefits of this all natural vegan products. This line is for the taste driven individual who knows that personal style, perfectly expressed through excellence, is the ultimate luxury.
Q: What do you see as the short-term and long-term benefits of using Nuuvo Haircare?
A: Clients see immediate results, with just one use of the collection. Dry brittle hair will feel shiny, soft and radiant. Using Nuuvo Products on a regular basis would provide protection from environmental and heat damage, giving hair daily moisture and keratin deposit, reversing the negative effects of harmful UV rays and hard water damage to hair cuticle.
Our Marigold Flower Oil (Nuuvo healing conditioner), rich keratin (Nuuvo Nourishing Shampoo) and essential oils, all provide deep protection, producing long lasting results with regular use.
Some of our supporting line products help maintain and minimize further damage. Using the No H20 Dry Shampoo would help protect hair from constant heat styling. The 3 in 1 Hairspray, with our innovative nozzle that lets our clients decide; light, medium or heavy hold. is humidity resistant, so hair can stay just how they like it for longer.
Q: Where do you see the line heading in terms of near future development and further expansion?
A: We are currently working on expanding the styling products. I recently launched Va Va Voom spray, great for leaving hair full of body, Victoria Secret sexy hair or spray on wet hair for beachy weaves. We also have introduced a Believe-In Conditioner, rich with pro B5 vitamin and Aloe Vera to fortify hair fibers and protect against environmental damage.
The next stage is to grow the brand regionally, nationality, and internationally, thus, we have an extensive marketing campaign ready to roll out beginning 1st Qtr
